Study: Cloud Deployments to Grow Faster than On-Premise Solutions
Cloud deployments are predicted to grow faster than on-premise solutions, according to a new report by ABI research. These deployments are expected to grow at a CAGR of 42.5 percent between 2014 and 2019.
The report also shows that cloud application development and management platforms will drive $3.6 billion in mobile enterprise application revenues by 2019.
Enterprises want to mobilize quickly and easily, driving tremendous growth in new cloud-based enterprise mobility solutions.
Today organizations are not solely focused on mobile device management solutions but want mobile application platforms deployed on-premise. If this is not possible they want mobile application platforms deployed in the cloud to develop and manage enterprise applications.
This requirement has become imperative as organizations have to manage devices and device platforms that access enterprise content and systems.
“Mobile applications allow for greater flexibility when mobilizing content and employees. However, the cost in terms of time and resources is fairly expensive to generate a single app for multiple platforms like iOS, Android and Windows Phone,” said ABI Research (News - Alert) senior analyst Jason McNicol.
“Fortunately new cloud-based development solutions have evolved and are now gaining traction to reduce the app development time while permitting cross-platform deployment.”
Presently, users have the option of choosing from front-facing and backend integration. While front-facing solutions focus specifically on the end user experience, backend solutions focus on connecting the app to enterprise systems.
Businesses can install and use both solutions either on-premise or in the cloud.
