GFI WebMonitor Now Even Better with New, Advanced Features
By Allison Boccamazzo TMCnet Web Editor
Almost exactly six months ago from today, the new GFI WebMonitor 2012 was released for decadent public consumption, being touted as one of the industry’s leading Web security solutions for small- to medium-sized businesses (SMBs). This was a new addition to the company’s strategic lineup of hot new innovations offered to SMBs to better ease and guarantee network protection. With the inclusion of GFI WebMonitor 2012, SMBs could enjoy even easier network protection from malicious threats, but now, the product has been enhanced to boast a slew of exciting new features for SMBs, which, according to a recent GFI blog, “put valuable productivity, bandwidth and security data in the hands of relevant stakeholders throughout the company.”
Adding onto the activity, bandwidth and real-time traffic “smart” dashboards which GFI WebMonitor 2012 originally came stocked with, the latest version comes fully equipped with a security dashboard, which enables IT administrators to “zone in on potential Web security issues before they become a problem,” according to GFI Senior PR Manager David Kelleher.
This dashboard also works to target major, critical areas of impact associated with Web browsing in the workplace, such as security issues, bandwidth drain and productivity loss, Kelleher elaborates.
Furthermore, the revamped product now helps “enable IT admins to better share dashboard-generated data relevant to business managers and the employees they manage, without inundating them with unnecessary information or fiving them access to the WebMonitor configuration settings.”
The latest version of GFI WebMonitor also includes comprehensive malware protection, which uses the product’s security dashboard to help IT admins stay up to date on important security information, as well as track how many threatening websites were blocked, which users are hitting the most malware and what viruses are “making the rounds.” Additionally, it includes the company’s flagship GFI VIPRE Antivirus solution, which boasts built-in anti-virus (AV) engines for WebSecurity and UnifiedProtection edition customers.
Furthermore, users will enjoy enhanced social controls, as GFI WebMonitor now includes harsher functionality on social networking sites to enable IT to block certain features that could potentially lead to major productivity loss.
Last, GFI WebMonitor touts robust multi-site synchronization, which makes it “easier than ever for IT admins to manage multi-site implementations of GFI WebMonitor.”
