Masergy Adds Broadcore's Potential to Enterprise Cloud Communications Solutions
By Arvind Arora TMCnet Contributor
Technology solutions enabling secure global communications have become a need of the day, as threats of online hacking and malware attacks have been rapidly increasing. Integrating cloud based technology with secure communications, enterprises can get a flexible and customized solution to fulfill their needs.
Masergy Communications Inc., a source of managed, secure global network services for addressing complicated needs of enterprises at various locations, has successfully acquired Broadcore (News - Alert) Communications, a company offering cloud communications services for businesses.
While the integrated network and software solutions offered by Masergy allow enterprises to establish a seamless connectivity among their unified communications solutions located worldwide, Broadcore helps its customers deploy a close integration of dispersed communications endpoints for office, mobile and call center employees for enhancing employee productivity, accelerating business processes and improving customer care.
A flexible IP communications system allows the company to provide a unified communications platform for Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), data and mobility communications to businesses located at a number of places.
With the new acquisition, Masergy will be able to add reliable cloud-based unified communications services into its cloud services portfolio. The company is well known for offering enhanced cloud-based network visibility and control to enterprises across the world, and recently included cloud-based services for managing Web-based applications and network security within its offerings.
Now, a comprehensive suite of global cloud communication services consisting of unified communications, SIP trunking, mobility solutions and custom integration will now be available by Masergy to its customers.
“Monty Ferdowsi and his management team at Broadcore have built a successful company by transforming a traditional PBX (News - Alert) services business into a next-generation cloud communications provider,” commented Chris MacFarland, CEO at Masergy. “The cloud communications market opportunity is expanding rapidly, and with this transaction, we can immediately offer these cloud solutions to enterprises on a global basis.”
After the acquisition, Broadcore will now work as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Masergy. Its service offerings will be integrated within the global MPLS network platform of Masergy that had been specifically developed to offer real-time applications such as voice, video and mobility solutions.
“With this acquisition, Broadcore will continue on as a provider of cloud communications, but with a network and parent company supporting our offerings and our customers,” said Monty Ferdowsi, president of Broadcore. “Our communications platform, together with Masergy’s premier network, will give companies access to superior cloud-based networking and communications solutions.”
In June 2012, Masergy Communications announced it will deploy VeloBit HyperCache for improving the company’s network performance analysis application by 20 times, without changing its current IT infrastructure. VeloBit HyperCache is a product that uses a Solid State Disk (SSD) to develop a transparent application acceleration layer that eliminates storage I/O bottlenecks.
